It was a Friday, a work-day, and not a lot was happening, but here are some pictures from my day.
6:36 AM - Home, in the family room.
Before work this morning, I wrapped a few Christmas presents. The story behind the little red velvet hat is that my granddaughter asked Santa for a "doll with a hat." I happen to know that Santa was already planning to bring her a doll, but it didn't have a hat. Grandma to the rescue! Now the doll will have a hat.
6:52 AM - On Eagle Ranch Rd.
I was stopped at an intersection, on my way to work this morning, and took the moment to capture the sunrise colors.
7:16 AM - Downtown Albuquerque, near the city plaza.
Still on my way to work, I swung by the city plaza. These statues sit on a wall there. The gentleman is the late Senator Dennis Chavez (1935-1962), a New Mexico senator remembered for his concern for the common folk. In this piece of art, he is depicted as sitting and listening to the needs of a poor lady, as he was often known to do.
8:08 AM - My office.
When I got to work, my teammates and I had to deal with some decision-making about what colors and fabrics and surfaces would go into the new office space they are creating for us on the upper floor of our building.
12:58 PM - Albertson's supermarket at Coors and Montano.
My work-day ends at 12:30. On my way home I stopped by a grocery store to pick up a dessert to take with me to a party tomorrow. I chose a white cake with raspberry filling and a cream cheese frosting.
1:10 PM - Albertson's supermarket at Coors and Montano.
The store had all of its Christmas decorations and items out, and I thought these poinsettias were really pretty.
1:17 PM - New housing development near Coors and Montano.
Although there's a "slump" in the housing market, Albuquerque continues to build. These are going up across the road from the grocery store.
2:05 PM - Home, in the kitchen.
After having a little lunch, I had to get to work emptying the dishwasher and tidying up the kitchen.
4:33 PM - Zio's, on Coors.
We decided to have an early dinner, to avoid the Friday night crowds. We went to Zio's.
4:39 PM - Zio's on Coors.
Their french bread is fresh and hot and delicious!
6:32 PM - Our neighborhood.
After dinner we went to the mall to pick out some luggage, which is going to be our Christmas gift to each other. On our way home we went by some homes with pretty holiday lights.
6:43 PM - Home, in the living room.
Here is the luggage we got. All of the luggage at Dillard's was either 50% or 70% off! We picked out these pieces, which were 50% off. I know my mother, when she sees this picture, is going to say, "UGH!" She really doesn't like green. But that's okay, it works for us. We are hoping to make a trip to Ireland next fall, and what better color than green for traveling there!
And that was my day! Thanks for stopping by.

Beautiful photos as usual Linda. I really like the hat pic, but you better hope your grandaughter doesn't read your blog or you'll spoil her Christmas... :) Albertson's is also ACME here on the east coast. It's founder came from Lansdowne just outside Philly. I know that because I drove past one of those blue historic plaques on my way home everyday for 7 years ...lol
ReplyDeleteHi Gary! Nice to hear from you. Yes, I trust my d-i-l to not show Sweetpea this particular blog ;-) I didn't know that about Albertson's.
